A clinical supervisor is a gentle, patient, and temporary guide. My purpose is to provide stability and support during a critical period of learning. Our time in supervision is not only meant to make sure we are practicing therapy in accordance with our ethics, laws/regulations, and outlined responsibilities, but also to explore, inquire, learn, collaborate, and grow. I was lucky enough to have had some great supervisors that did
just that for me and I hope to create a similar space for you!
Supervision with me will be focused on developing your curiosity for the human condition and a desire to be a lifelong learner. For a sense of structure, I utilize the Integrative Developmental Model (IDM) for supervision which outlines the concepts of addressing needs, skills, and knowledge base at the different development levels.
Alongside that approach, I also aim to create a warm, supportive, open space for you to process through your experiences as a clinician and help figure out what will nurture the good stuff that comes along and/or adjust what isn't working well for you. The hope is we'll build up your confidence and skills so that when it's time you feel ready to be a confident, authentic, and self-aware clinician.
